چکیده
Abstract Laser powder bed fusion (LPBF) facilitates the integration of external elements like sensors into workpieces during manufacturing. These embedded components enable e.g. part monitoring, thus being a fundamental application industry 4.0. This study assesses feasibility embedding eddy current (EC) for non-destructive testing (NDT) SLM aiming at structural health monitoring (SHM). A reliable process EC is developed, ensuring survivability LPBF and its harsh conditions. The experiments conducted demonstrate possibility to use sensor observe detect controlled crack growth. cracks are realized either with direct EDM cutting or on course fatigue test CT specimens. data retrieved by proven provide information about severity damage evolution over time both approaches. Thus, supporting validation such an innovative promising SHM concept.
